Oxford Civic Center, Lake, and Parks

Located in Calhoun County | What you’ll find:

The Oxford Civic Center features a multipurpose gymnasium and an abundance of meeting space. You will also find a public swimming pool, five baseball for youth fields, a four-field softball complex, a baseball field for children with disabilities, batting and pitching cages, and a lighted tennis court complex. Additionally, we offer a children’s playground, 10 covered picnic pavilions, fishing pier, and plenty of parking for everyone.

Oxford Lake

Stretch your legs on the paved and gravel track around the lake or spread out a picnic for the whole family. There is a fishing pier and four covered pavilions. It is also home to one of Alabama’s oldest remaining covered bridges, moved from Coldwater Creek to Oxford Lake and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Freedom Park

Freedom Park is located close to the Oxford Civic Center. The facility features a state-of-the-art children’s playground with safe and fun equipment for children ages 0-12. The park’s popular “splash pad” operates from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Freedom Park is open from 8:00 a.m. to dusk Wednesday – Monday.

Liberty Park

Located at the south end of the Oxford Civic Center, Liberty Park memorializes our veterans and first responders. It features a domed pavilion with benches for visitors to sit and reflect. It also includes a World War II era cannon, a lighted reflecting pool and fountain, as well as a natural amphitheater for services such as Memorial Day and Veterans Day. You will find POW, MIA, and all branches of service represented in the park. Liberty Park is free and open to the public 24 hours a day. We invite you to visit the park and honor all our heroes for all they have done.
