150th Anniversary Abel Streight’s Raid Reenactment

Period Ladies Social and Tea on Saturday @ 11am

Battle of Days Gap where General Forrest’s cannons were captured on Saturday @ 2pm.

The Civil War Era Ball on Saturday Evening. Period attire required. NO Exceptions. Public viewing area adjacent to Ball.

Period Church Service on Sunday @ 10am

Battle of Streight’s Surrender and watch the burning of Black Creek Bridge!

Period Merchants and Encampment open to public for viewing.

Visit Cornwall Furnace, (3 miles from reenactment) Erected in 1862, this cold blast furnace was the first in the country to be powered by water.  Sits on the banks of the Chattooga River on Weiss Lake.

Event being sponsored by Alabama Division, Vab de Corput’s Battery, Town of Cedar Bluff, Cherokee County Historical Museum, Cherokee County Historical Society, and Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce.

Bring your chairs, quilts, and picnic baskets.  Enjoy the events and the historical education opportunity.
